Politics and News: "The Case to Impeach the President?"

JDC Government Machinations:  Are the happenings in Washington unconstitutional as President Obama pushes his humanistic values for good into a misguided socialistic agenda?

The buzz of discontentment has hit the fan as it blows reality into the minds of voters and the Liberal Press.

Judge Andrew Napolitano responds on Fox and Friends AM show to a question of "unconstitutionality."  The judge believes actions taken by President Obama in his first 100 plus days in office are unconstitutional, and the courts will intervene as they did during the reign of FDR to reverse actions that infringe on guaranteed freedom of choice rights and issues that affect the U.S. cornerstone of free enterprise.

No matter how well intentioned the czarist administration may be, the experience in running a business the size of the United States Government is lacking and is evident in the fostered existing chaos affecting every sector from main street to the federal government.

The desire of the American people to believe in a charismatic voice of hope and change has turned into a meddling power-play affecting everything the forefathers of this country fought for.  ...That each of us might have the freedom of "choice" unencumbered by government; to be kept in tack by the check and balance of a dual political system.

A system that has under the current administration developed into a dynasty of ineffective stimulus packages, unemployment that will soon hit 10%, preferential union treatment, the new REEP program that will dictate what Americans must do in order to meet "green" standards and be able to sell their homes, Cap and Trade, which critics say will cost the average consumer hundreds of dollars more in heating and cooling bills, scripted control of the free press, and since the February inauguration, has spent the largest outlay of borrowed money, than all the previous administrations combined according to national news report sources.

Ironically, for the first time, on the eve of this Fourth of July weekend, there has been a display of ire by the White House Press Corps, who has covered this sitting president since he started his stump-walk to the White House.

Guru reporter Helen Thomas who has covered the Washington beat for close to 40 years, took issue with Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, and his refusal to answer questions on pre-scripted town-hall meetings and attempts of this administration to control the Press. "You are pumping the answers . . . It's shocking, really shocking . . . It's a pattern of controlling the press." states Ms. Thomas.

Columnist Jonah Goldberg of the L.A. Times, takes it one step further: "The Press is being treated like a patsy."

Where does it all stop?  Will the radical agenda of President Barack Obama be stymied by the 2010 elections.  Will there be a public movement beyond the Tea Parties in favor of impeachment?  Will our country be delved into the pit of dependency under a government controlled socialism?  Or will what appears to be ineptness, turn out to be a successful strategy?  Only God knows and he isn't sending in the Cavalry. 

America will sink or swim in the waves of the next four years.

Politics and News: "Nancy Pelosi Calls Past and Present CIA Liars"

JDC Government Machinations:  Washington, D.C.  A liberal Press was fired up as a shaken Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House attempted to clear the air on the issue of Waterboarding techniques defending why she took no action in 2002.  "We were told explicitly that 'waterboarding' was not being used."

What might have been a slap against the previous administration is becoming a major sore spot that may find Democratic House Leader Pelosi in a bubbling caldron of ensuing heat as she repeatedly accuses the Central Intelligence Agency of having lied under both administrations.  Head of the CIA George Little, indicated it would be up to Congress to determine the truth.

We are still in the cross hairs of terrorism.  Senator Joe Liberman of Connecticut believes we should not be questioning the integrity of the CIA and need to focus on the enemy today. 

The CIA is the top Intelligence Agency in the country comprised of professionals, who under strict guidelines do their work within the law and maintain the appropriate documentation classified and declassified because of that law.  They are detailed orientated and committed to the security of the United States and the lives of its people on a 24/7 basis. 

A CIA spokesperson has told FOX news: Push-back is fast and hard, standing by to document that the House Speaker was told: "Waterboarding has been employed."  Pelosi's credibility, memory and integrity are now on-the-line to the chagrin of the Democratic Party.

As Democrats scurry the halls on the Hill, according to reporter Carl Cameron, Minority Leader John Boehner dismisses Pelosi's account.  He said, ". . .I do not believe I have ever been mislead.  For three-and-a half years I was briefed on a daily basis and it is hard for me to imagine anyone in our Intelligence would mislead a member of Congress.  . . .It is pretty clear that they (Democrat House and Senate members) were well aware of what these enhanced interrogation techniques were . . . it seems to me that they want to have it both ways.  You can't have it both ways."

Republican Pete Hoekstra of the House Intelligence Committee indicates one way to settle this is to have the memorandums of record be declassified, which will show what Congress was briefed on and provide further insight.  Pelosi continues to head off people from asking for more information, especially as to her own records.

In defending her own lack of action, perhaps Speaker Pelosi in 2002 should have been working on the issue of intelligence and security concerns with the two Intelligence and Armed Services committees on the HIll, instead of engaging in the politics of wrestling congressional control from the Republicans.  Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina has been quoted: "if there was a crime Nancy Pelosi was part of it.  . . . The time has come to stop digging."  Other issues need to be seriously addressed.

Are we to believe the CIA misleads the Congress of the United States as a matter of practice as Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi attests too?

News: "Obama's Team Throws Out 12,000 American Flags After Convention"

JDC News Update:  A historic reminder: "Don't Tread On Me," and that includes national patriotic respect for the American symbol Old Glory, and the character and perceived view of each political party.

A political team is only as good as the leader, who must surround him or herself with a select group of people who are attentive to government practices and details in order to prevent social or diplomatic blunders.

As the story goes, it is the Boy Scouts and veterans who retrieved 84 green bags containing 12,000 small and full size American flags after the Democratic Convention either "in dumpsters," or near dumpsters; trucked their way in a rescue to be used in the stump stop today in Colorado and redistributed to citizens attending the McCain-Palin rally.  The balance to fly in honor over the graves of Democrats, Independents and Republicans - our American freedom fighters.

The situation is a He said, He said dilemma.  The Obama team claims the flags were taken  without  permission and their intent was to send them back to the vendor for recycling.

In politics it's the attention to time frames and to the little things we don't see on the surface that can be a killer.  Any leader - any boss is only as good as the people they surround themselves with.

Did someone in Obama's camp forget to sweat the small stuff?  Did the Boy Scouts and vets do something wrong?  This is an example how explosive a situation can become when someone does not expeditiously follow through.  It's called dependability.

When you or I put our garbage out in the dumpster or near it (unless specifically contained for another purpose so as not to be confused as garbage) it becomes garbage waiting to be crushed and besmirched by a rolling leveraged garbage truck beseeched of stench and disease.  Was this an underlying reason for a rescue mission to save the Old Glory icons from defacement and disrespect?

Only the scouts and vets, and the Obama team know what the truth is.

News: "Rumbles in the Heartland of Bias Media Politics Will Insure a McCain Victory"

JDC Op-Ed:  No jump in polls on Obama's international tour.  Could it be because 76% of the Nation's polled voters believe the "trip" is nothing more than a photo-op?

Straight talk:  The American pot of public opinion is starting to heat up slowly like a percolating volcano, firing up for an explosive eruption as the media continues its premature coronation of Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate.

I hear it in the confines of little towns - I hear it in the restaurants - I hear it in the shoppes, wherever the voice of America congregates:  "What ever happened to fair representation?" 

The talk - the debate - the stories, 76% worth, are the same.  "Bias for Obama is Obvious," as expressed by Sgt. Greg Saganich (retired), U.S. Air Force, Riverside, Illinois as reported in Tuesday's July 22nd Chicago Sun-Times.

"How is it that John McCain visits Iraq and Afghanistan eight or more times and never gets your front page.  However, when the biggest left-wing liberal traitor to America, Barack Hussein Obama, visits the Middle East, he gets pages one, two and three?  Your bias toward Obama, though now anticipated and predictable, remains disgusting."

John McCain, the experienced political thoroughbred he is, is running neck and neck with the charismatic relaxed gravity of Barack Obama and his deeply inspirational message of hope, but whose achievements are mostly in his future.

McCain continues to move with a conscious but quiet assurance gaining strides, as Barack Obama's move is the backed media darling; a media whose desire is to see him elected, though his background of being a reformer does not comport with the reality of his past political record or the rhetoric of his present.

The opinion that counts . . . is the one at home, made by Americans at the ballot box, attempting to choose the best qualified person to run their democracy and secure their freedom.

The quality of a man's character is in his past. . .his word; his actions.  John McCain's and Barack Obama's political expertise and viewpoints can be reviewed with revealing insight.   Does one of them qualify to run the Office of the President at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?  Review legislative histories at:  www.thomas.gov

Politics: "Does Obama's persona match his record?"

JDC Commentary:  The neck-in-neck horse race between Barack Obama, the Pied Piper of charisma and Hillary Clinton, the Iron Lady of resilience is not over yet.

Whatever the Democratic rhetoric of eventual party unity, the primary race is not building an "indivisible" party.  The affects of this selection process will more than likely be felt within the party ranks, for years to come especially if Obama becomes the Presidential candidate.

Indeed this is a historical election.  Obama's 91% win in Carolina is not a good representation of the General Election Polls as to whether he can effectively bring in other minorities and the blue-collar vote.  Keeping in mind Obama won the State of Illinois by default. . .leaving the election wide open to his running against himself, as his opponent backed out 30 days before the election, how then could he not win?   His electablity is in question.

More importantly, (1) Can Obama defy the odds and circumvent those Hillary supporters who will vote for John McCain if he is the nominee?   (2) Then there will be the backlash of anger that will again divide  the Democratic party as Democratic voters will not be easily satisfied if Florida and Michigan votes are not counted because of Obama's refusal to petition to allow it.   (3) Looking realistically with the general election in mind, it is apparent his win in Carolina was not from any campaigning measure or his message, but from the demographics of the black vote. 

Barack Obama's personality and eloquent speaking style is appeasing to all looking for hope in a better future and a government politics different from the past.  -- Like the Pied Piper he plays a tune and the hopeful seem to follow.  Like the Pied Piper of fantasy luring and mesmerizing with fine sounding notes to different tunes, is Obama capable of leading the flock down into the waters of doom?  Does the book fit the cover?

Can Obama compete against the demographics of the whole nation in a full-blown general election?  Can he stop stating, and then claiming, "I realize I had misspoken?"  Can he be decisive instead of leaving the impression he agrees with everyone at the same time?  Terrorists can't be appeased, and foreign governments want to know what you will do, not what you will say - Does he have the demeanor to kick some butt?  Or will he rationalize with excuses perhaps giving away the store? 

Does Obama's legislative record State and Federal match his persona? This will become front page in the heat of the general election on issues of the mystique of Obama's hopeful message.  Laid open and pressed down with the settled truth of the past in pertinent precedents showing for the first time how Obama thinks and what impact that thinking has had in his decision making processes on legislation.

Should one care beyond the facade of magnetism?   A measurement of a man is his actions. Sample the prelude to the mind of the man who might occupy the leather chair in the Oval Office. 

(1)  Voted NO - SB381 IL(1997) to give no offer of "good-time" for sex offenders sentenced to the County Jail.   He was the only No vote against the measure.

(2)  Voted NO - HB1812 IL(1999) to require school boards to install software on public computers accessible to minors to block sexually explicit material.

(3)  Present - would not vote on the issue of restricting the location of buildings with "adult" uses (Pornographic video stores, strip clubs, etc.) with 1,000 feet of any public or private elementary or secondary school, public park, place of worship, preschool, daycare facility, mobile park or residential.  Why didn't he vote YES?

(4)  Voted NO - SB230 IL(1997) to prohibit partial-birth abortion unless necessary to save the life of a mother and makes performance of the procedure a Class 4 felony for the physician.

(5)  Voted NO - SB381 IL(1999) to require prisoners to pay court costs for frivolous lawsuits against the state.

(6)  Voted YES - SB1725 (2003) to  restore the Illinois Estate Tax.

(7)  Voted YES - SB1733 (2003) to "impose" a Gas Use Tax on the purchase of natural gas from outside the state of Illinois for use or consumption in Illinois.  -- Forces the delivery supplier to pay 2.4 cents per therm of gas, or the customer can elect to become a "self-assessing" purchaser and pay 5% of the purchase price  or 2.4 cents per therm.

(8)  Stance - Not voting on HB581 (2003) -  Allowing domestic partners to be allowed to assume the rights of a spouse or survivor with regards to pension benefits under the Chicago Teacher's pension system.
A gay rights legislation.

(9)  Voted NO - SB795 (2001) to reduce employers' minimum contribution insurance rate.

Robert J. Caldwell, editor of the San Diego Union-Tribune's Sunday "Insight" says it best:  "Obama's record also raises another disturbing matter - his penchant for ducking tough issues.  Obama's complied a record of voting "present" on controversial and politically explosive bills.  Obama's three years in the U.S. Senate are similarly devoid of any leadership examples on legislation of consequence.

This doesn't necessarily indict Obama's claimed leadership skills as fraudulent.  It does demonstrate that those skills have not yet been in evidence in his legislative work." 

In the coming months the good heart of Barack Obama and his hopeful message will have to face the facts of his past and the truth of his voting record.  Voters will have to decide whether he is capable of making the right decisions to keep  America free, resilient with less government intrusion, and of course, always, "indivisible . . . and under God . . .  with justice for all."

"Billionaire J.K. Rowling Holding Back Tears in Federal Court?"

JDC Art of Writing:  "Somehow a distraught J.K. Rowling has lost her creativity for writing.  Is it permanent writer's block, or is it sentimentality about losing out on the sought after almighty dollar?"

Today in Federal Court Ms. J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter book series appeared in a dignified suit, a simple coiffure, and a pouting somber look, to take the stand in her lawsuit against a man who is one of her biggest fans.  So much so, he started a Website: an on-line lexicon of information covering the genre on Harry Potter, which was the basis for his "published version, sure to be a money-maker."

According to Fox News: Warner Brothers, who built its treasure trove of four billion dollars from the movie versions, and Ms. Rowling, who sold four hundred million Potter books have combined efforts to block the dictionary version  from hitting the market.

As a writer myself, the issue of copyright infringement is a noteworthy protective point.  Ms. Rowling has spent 17 years of her time in the process of creating from "the flow of the juices of thought," in nimble finger computer time  something of eminent value within the halls of writing, entertainment and the financial realm.

Taking words that: by themselves are "dead," giving them "life" in a content with a breath of color and play-on words of a non-existent world of magical wizardry; creating a new lexicon of words.  She penned a mystifying, memorable content that reels itself into a dreamy fun state of excitement that draws the reader in.

As a writer, I question the point of: the loss of her creativity?  Now, if I were in her shoes, my  thought processes might be:  Anger,  bitterness; the pain of a hurt heart that someone is going to make big money on a book I contemplated, yet never got around to producing. . .the final book - a dictionary compilation of everything Harry Potter.

As the smoke poured out of my ears, my eyes, might then shed a waterfall of pained wetness.  "After all my hard work, I can't believe this is happening! . . . some little twit is going to benefit from my struggles."

Yes, being a writer is a blast in a half.  One never knows what pestilence might spew venom off a page, in the media or in the course of wordsmithing, leading one up the stairs to the gavel and desk of a Federal Court judge of Copyright Law.

A Court as it should, will decide such issues as: Ms. Rowling's claim of loss of creativity, whether the reference lexicon is an academic educational tool of "fair use."  Whether its author, in penning references in his own words, has the right to publish a hard copy and make money off of Ms. Rowling's sweat-equity?

Not so surprising is Ms. Rowling's  knowledge and acceptance of the existing website of her best "fan," even linking back to his.   A clear two-way street: a prestigious pat on the back for him; a plethora of adoring readers for her . . . so long as a hard copy doesn't pop up like the magic "p-o-o-f" of a wizard's wand.

No writer wants to be taken advantage of.  I can only surmise Ms. Rowling is a professional of the ilk and girth that will not stop her momentum, keeping her from "getting back on the horse and riding into the sunset."

As for the rest of us . . . Are you a candidate for a lawsuit?  Are you taking your Internet found writing freedom for granted, not understanding what "fair use" is?  Are you pushing the envelope, hoping no one will notice - at least for now?

News: "Obama's Former Pastor Moving into Million Dollar Home in 'Damn America' "

JDC News Update - IL  Only in America can you speak your mind, bring on condemnation and still enjoy the fruits of "the greatness of this country."

Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago is picking up the tab for the construction of a one million dollar home for retired Rev. Jeremiah Wright.  "It is a supported effort by the local church to ensure that the retiring pastor and his spouse have . . . continuing housing . . .  and adequate pension and health care - as an expression of the local church's appreciation for their years of service,"  as reported by the Sun-Times News Group and Kristen Schorsch of the SouthtownStar in Illinois.

How blatant the irony of a minister who curses America by his recognition and verbal use of the "mean emotionalism of his church."  Proving false to the unifying charismatic tone of Senator Barack Obama's Pied Piper's flute of unification . . .  can still be blessed to relish, be lavished and enjoy his retirement in a country club atmosphere.  Where "people kind of decide to get away from things," Tinley Park Trustee Greg Hannon said.

And so, we will see that greatness in action, as Rev. Wright moves into his four-bedroom home complete with elevator, butler's pantry, rubberized exercise room and spacing for such wonderful luxuries as a future theater.

A gift from his congregation, "who are free to honor him in ways it feels most appropriate," . . . in their desire to address the "needs" of Rev. Wright's circumstances.

American life goes on - and a controversial question arises: "Does one condemn the best and the worst of America with one hand and voice and take with the other?"   Is it the American way?

Politics: Is America Ready for an Obama Presidency?

JDC Commentary: What are people thinking, they are not saying upfront?

Interesting is yesterday's comment and evaluation made by Obama's campaign people: how he and Hillary came out equal in the Florida primary...zero to zero.  Taking into consideration neither candidate gained any electoral votes you can't argue.  What a diplomatic spin to smooth over Obama's vote loss of 17% and Hillary's win.

What is the reality of being elected looms only in the hearts of Americans and across all divides as Super Tuesday approaches.

Has Senator Obama, become the pied piper whistling a tune for real change?  Or is it his traits and characteristics distinguishing him as affable, making him believable in his platform cry for change?  -- The same political outcry repeated throughout political history by candidates all running for the desk job at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Are potential voters blindly following the piper like mice or does Barack Obama have what it takes to be the most powerful man in the world capable of executing executive duties, with honor and in securing our country against all odds, bar none?

The Senator's heart may be in the right place, but can he unite the country over racial divides to gain the popular votes and the electorate backing needed to take that walk through the Rose Garden indoors to the Oval office...the room of decisive decision-making and power?

Tuesday's primaries in 24 states will erase the gray area between what people really think and what their saying on Obama's future or the beginning of the end.

Illinois Statewide No Smoking Ban Effective January 2008

JDC Bullet-Forecasts: Illinois, the good and the bad on the new Statewide legislation, banning smoking in all public areas. 

An aggressive law will take affect tomorrow January 1, 2008 for all Illinois citizens and business owners.  It doesn't matter who you are, where you are from or what kind of business you run.  The whole state will become a smoke free zone.  If you want to smoke you'll have to do it in the confines of your home or backyard. 

Businesses have scurried to readjust for a possible licensed approved designated smoking area outside of the business confines, leaving the majority of businesses with the potential loss of patron business.  Businesses found in violation will be penalized with "hefty" fines.  Individuals will be foreced to pay a fine of $250.

From a health standpoint droves have commented on the anxiously awaited law allowing smoke free dining restaurants and no more second-hand smoke issues.  One lady supports the law in hopes her husband will decide to stop his addictive smoking.  Ladies in the dating scene like the idea.  Tina M. states: "I am tired of going out and coming back with my hair and clothes smelling of smoke."

The ridiculous increase in price for a pack of cigarettes didn't seem to deter too many from smoking.  Hopefully, this drastic step just may help save lives, create healthier living in Illinois and even save a few dollars.  -- I'm sure this state free smoking ban will be coming to your state soon enough.

No Use of Cell Phones While Driving for You Kid!

Illinois has taken a first step to a Statewide ban on the use of cell phone use while driving by anyone under the age of 19. Too many accidents have a direct connection to cell use.  Again, this past Christmas Eve, a Eastbound vehicle driven by a youth on a cell phone plowed through a light hitting a South bound vehicle broadside totaling the vehicle.  Fortunately only one person was hurt seriously enough to be hospitalized out of its four occupants.  I'm sure eventually this law too, will become statewide across the country.  When a law is successful in one state, the domino affect is set.

Parents, Younger Child Prostitution Increasing:

An average of 400,000 children are forced into prostitution each year, that's one out of every twenty two children under the age of 18.

A Las Vegas lead investigator has indicated the middle class runaways starting at ten years of age is growing.   Las Vegas is becoming more of a hub for young runaways.  The younger are more desirable - young and fresh looking, and can be prostituted for a longer period of time.

Our children are being lured looking for love, a place to belong, a new adventure, and not to mention that in the beginning pimps will give them whatever they want.  The reasons to runaway can range from the superficial to the unheard cry for help, boundaries or an on-line romantic enticement. 

It is not easy being a parent in this crazed age of freedom. Maybe it's time to throw out the modern day Philosophy and go behind the barn and use the rod of love.  Sound discipline, guidance and correction.

Death of U.S. Ally Benazir Bhutto will Impact National and International Policy

JDC News Update:  Pakistan - The untimely death of Benazir Bhutto is affecting momentum of the 2008 elections.   The U.S. Market continues to drop more than 192 points due to the uncertainty of international policy in Pakistan, a country who does five billion dollars in business annually with the U.S. 

The policy of democracy in Pakistan has taken a major hit with the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, an extremely popular leader, who came out of exile to serve her people in a job she believed needed to be done.  -- Her untimely death could lead to significant consequences of long term instability and civil war that would impact the global community.

Today, Presidential candidate Senator John McCain reacts:  "The assassination of Prime Minister Bhutto is a serious situation.  She had made it clear that she was going to eliminate radical Islamic influence.  Depending on how it plays out they may have to see Marshall law for a period of time...we hope we can get through this.  Turmoil of this nature is not good for Pakistanis and for American interests." ... Profound, as Pakistan is a nuclear state and an ally of the U.S.

Pakistani forces were put on "Red Alert," as violence breaks out in Lahore.  Bob Baer former CIA Agent and Fox News contributor ways-in: "we have to look at the worst scenario because the Pakistanis have control over 100 plus nuclear weapons.  We can't allow this country to breakup, and the country should be placed under lock down."

Meanwhile, the White House has reached out to General Kiyani Ashfaq to secure the Pakistan's nuclear arsenal and control violence on the ground.  "Those who committed this crime must be brought to justice," stated President Bush.

What's at stake in the upcoming 2008 elections, as Democrats and Republicans vie for the Oval Office?  The Bhutto attack brings foreign affairs back to the forefront on International and National security.

Fox News Reporter Carl Cameron makes it clear how important politically, the measure is on the Presidential candidates ability to deal with a crisis, and how would they use the opportunity and challenge to show...they have the muster to deal with a major International crisis?

Commentator Juan Williams states:  "The stability of Pakistan is critical, and the repercussion in the 2008 elections will change the dynamics on the Republican side, while becoming a plus for Clinton.  Neither Edwards ... nor Obama gains any benefit.  Best positioned is Hillary Clinton who stumps her Democratic opponents."

A recent sample of Iowa Democratic voters of varied demographic backgrounds critiqued the last Democratic debate with poor ratings.  The overall consensus was that the candidates did not answer  important questions. Policy differences caused them to narrow the candidates down to three.

Senator Clinton was perceived as scripted, tired looking, referring back to the 90's, not inspirational, and was part of the status quo, bringing nothing new to the issues.

Senator Obama came across as very appealing with a fresh perception on change, personalizing his responses and was open to help.  In the Zogby polling 23% of women under 50 and 17% of women over 50 viewed Oprah Winfrey's participation on the campaign trail as a negative.                                             

John Edwards seemed to come out ahead as being the most believable, concise, and answering questions to the point.  Though he appeared more authentic in his ability to make positive changes for the middle class, he was rated third in line.

On the Republican side, Rudy Giuliani and John McCain rise as the logical candidates to deal with a major international crises due to their experiences, 911 and the state of war.

All Americans should be concerned as to where we as a nation go from here...to the voting booth to assure the right person is elected that will keep our land free and our families safe.
